CAPL is a regional library serving the municipalities of the City of Coatesville, Caln, East Fallowfield, Modena, South Coatesville, Valley, West Brandywine and West Caln.
 

Valley Township, formed in 1852, is one of the eight municipalities that the Coatesville Area Public Library serves as their regional library.  Today, Valley Township is experiencing a growth spurt with many new developments.  We welcome Valley Township’s new residents as patrons of our library as we continue to serve our longtime friends and patrons from Valley. http://www.valleytownship.org/History.html

Spring Raffle 

CAPL is having a raffle May 8 – June 8.  The money we collect will be used for a book display case.

In response to requests for items for our raffle fundraiser we have received a handcrafted quilt, themed baskets of goodies, gift cards and gift certificates and even passes to Longwood Gardens.

Raffle tickets for the handcrafted quilt are $5.00/each.  Raffle tickets for baskets and smaller items are $1.00/each, 6 for $5.00 and 13 for $10.00. Patrons may buy raffle tickets at the circulation desk.  Raffle tickets for the handcrafted quilt will also be sold at our Book Sales Tent at the Strawberry Festival.

Many thanks to our patrons and local businesses for supporting our raffle fundraiser.

   

Annual Book Sale Extended!

We have gently used Books, CDs and DVDs for sale in the library.

   

Children's Summer Reading Program! June 10 - August 24th. Children can earn reading patches for six themes: the Board Game Genius, Caped Avenger, Epic Wizard, Interstellar Seeker, Globe Trotter and Mad Chef.   Register one time for a whole summer of reading fun.

 Summer Courtyard Garden

As part of Longwood Gardens 2019 Community Read CAPL's young patrons have started a summer seed garden in the library's courtyard.  They have prepared the containers they will use to plant their favorite vegetable and flower seeds (radishes, spinach, carrots, marigolds, nasturtiums and more).  Watch for pictures of our garden as it progresses throughout the season.

 

   

Tweens and Teens in the Library.  Every Monday and Wednesday 4:00 to 5:00 pm

Want to make displays, help with projects, and earn hours of volunteer time?

Join our other tweens and teens who are already having a great time using their ideas to help the library! New ideas and suggestions always welcome!

   

Story time with Miss Pattie. Every Wednesday and Friday at  10:30 am.  Preschool children are invited to join in the fun.

   

Women’s Yoga. Every Monday and Thursday – 6:00 pm. Please join us, no registration is required.

   

June 1, Saturday - 10:30 am PAWS for Reading – Introducing Scooter, a Sensory Play Day Mascot and certified therapy dog.  This session is dedicated to children with special needs.

   
June 15, Saturday - 10:30 am PAWS for Reading – Come and read to Moose (golden retriever) a therapy dog!  If you come and read 5 times you can earn a free Paws T-shirt.

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer experience?  The Coatesville Area Public Library is looking for additional individuals to instruct patrons one-on-one in the basics of using computers and the Internet. 

Fluency in the use of computers, laptops, smartphones, standard office productivity software, e-mail, the Web, and social networking tools is required, as are strong communication and interpersonal skills, friendliness, patience, and approachability.
